Making Clerical Shirts
In line with their strong ethical focus and ongoing commitment to high standards in manufacture, Reliant, Hammond & Harper and MDS clerical shirts are made in factories with minimum wages policies and a unionised workforce.
As well as these safeguards against low wages and underage labour, their own 'in situ' staff, regularly check and audit the factories.
By purchasing a "Reliant" or “Hammond & Harper” garment, you are helping to keep many people employed in deprived areas of
Asia, providing valuable income to combat rising global food prices and medical costs.

Who Me? Wear a Clerical Shirt?
Clothing says a great deal about one's profession, and this is no less the case with the clergy. The special shirt that clergy wear outside of worship services is known as a clerical shirt or collar shirt, which typically is black or another color with a white collar (sometimes affectionately referred to as a "dog collar"!).
The wearing of special ministerial clothing has a long and distinguished history, and is found throughout Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant traditions. While there have been many variations in clerical dress over the centuries, the rationale for wearing special clothing has to do with the minister's professional role and function. A collar shirt lets people recognize him or her as an ordained clergyperson.
Clerical clothes can "open doors" in many ministry settings for you, such as in hospitals where staff members wear uniforms that identify their respective professions. Visits to congregants' or parishioners' homes during times of illness, tragedy, or death can also be enhanced when you wear clothes that are a reminder of your Christian witness and purpose. And when traveling, you might have the opportunity to share your faith with strangers who strike up a conversation because you have on a collar shirt.
Clergy Collar Clerical Shirts
Planned for 2009 is the introduction of clerical shirts made by Clergy Collar. Yes folks we are the new manufacturer on the block.
Our aim is to shake up the market with new colours and patterns. There are by far too many black clerical shirts already for sale, and whilst we acknowledge it has its place, the aim of Clergy Collar is to offer an alternative.
We will start with the slip in collar or tab collar clerical shirt and slowly but surely introduce more styles and eventually ladies clerical shirts and blouses. The fabric will be cotton rich and the mix will be 80% cotton and 20% polyester. Also coming this year will be Thai silk clerical shirts. Please contact us for more information.
If you want to buy a clerical shirt that stands out from the crowd then watch this space! Coming to this website soon.
